Going on from a recent thread,
I've spent quite a while and "a quite few more dollars" trying to find my sound .
Long story short, I bought and sold a couple of things last week in a last ditch attempt and ...
P Bass with D'Addario Chromes, Ampeg SVT 3-Pro and a Barefaced Big One

Another thumbs up for the Chromes (have them on both my 5s). But also loving my Thomastiks on the fretted 4. Good job, Kenny, now enjoy!

Recent convert to chromes on my P bass. Played it at a festival yesterday and joy of joys, a sound man who knew what he was doing with the bass sound.

I find Chromes a bit too bright, but experimenting with different strings is probably the best way to change your sound.... trouble is it's expensive and time consuming if you do proper back to back tests.
