Pinball
Answer Build quality! Fender owners look away now. The bass player died soon after his bass. The band Guitar Wolfe had were a success, and starred in a film called Wild Zero. Neither band or film were for the faint hearted. Edited August 27, 2012 by Pinball

Pinball
aww come-on you have to admire his determination. Most would either have given up or sobered up by the 3rd swing!
lowdowner
If you tried that with a Thumb, you'd strain your back and shoulder muscles so badly the first swing would be your last me thinks!
Billy Apple
He was worn out after the third swing, and I think he only bust the body along the line of the two-piece join. I can't believe the neck join didn't give up, you'd think that would be a weak spot. Mind you, that guy seems like a bit of a drink of water and the P had him beat. Gust0o
Obviously, the gap in the neck pocket by the Fender QC was cushioning the blow - a well-conceived compression joint, allowing the guitar to flex with each ill-informed and foolish swing But, nah, not my bat. Dingus
He was probably insured...
Call it intuition if you like, but have a sneaking suspicion that this young man might have lacked the the good sense and foresight to ensure his musical equipment was properly insured. This kind of behaviour can also void most policies, I expect. Edited August 27, 2012 by Dingus

Blademan_98
It has always made me sad to see this. I know it's supposed to be rock and roll When you struggle to afford nice basses and some 'artist' smashes up one on stage Regards a sad old bassist with gas lol
stingrayPete1977
I'd love a Gibson grabber or one of them Ibanez artists or whatever Kris Novoselic used but he managed to kill most of them!

risingson
To be honest, if you try and smash your guitar up after a gig nowadays it just ends up looking like a terrible cliche. People would be right to assume that you're probably a bit of a cock for doing it, or in this case trying to do it. All pretty embarrassing! Wolverinebass
The shock value is pretty much gone from smashing instruments. After The Who and Hendrix is there anything else left in this regard? Er, no. What killed me about that video was that I didn't understand why he didn't swing the bass so that the string side went into the stage first. Surely that would have got the neck joint to break with one swing?
