Jigster Posted October 31, 2012 Author Posted October 31, 2012 Mods, please forgive the re-bumping but just noted that this has had over 2,500 views and about three offers! without instigating a bidding war - which of course is punishable by death - do people consider this is priced too high. It's FSR build quality and looks speak for themselves so kinda flummoxed.
Rick's Fine '52 Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012
Mods, please forgive the re-bumping but just noted that this has had over 2,500 views and about three offers! without instigating a bidding war - which of course is punishable by death - do people consider this is priced too high. Maybe because those looking for the 70's antigua retro vibe, are put off by the fact the neck isnt the correct block inlay version, apart from that, I cant think why it isnt selling. This is a limited release reissue of classic, and a great price. I'm as baffled as you. Very odd market place at the mo!
ash Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Perhaps it's because it's been moved on a couple of times fairly quickly? It looks fantastic and is an excellent price, I was tempted when I saw it before....had it been a Precision! The market is odd at the moment as Rick's Fine has rightly pointed out and there are a lot of instruments at stupidly low prices going nowhere at the moment. I'm sure you'll get a sale soon as this series is so limited. Have a bump on me
Jigster Posted November 1, 2012 Author Posted November 1, 2012 thanks for the input guys - the market is definitely out of sorts at the moment.
Bassection Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 I really don't want to spend my money on more basses, as I have more than enough, but this is just so tempting.. Supposed to be saving for a holiday next year *dilemma*
Bassection Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 I think "Sexy" would be a more fitting adjective. I'll have to see how it goes down on Payday and hopefully you'll still have it.
gjones Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 It's strange how tastes change. I never liked these antigua when they first came out in the late seventies early eighties BUT looking at yours I have definitely changed my mind. Unfortunately I don't have the spare cash but have a bump on me for a lovely looking bass at a steal of a price.
Jigster Posted November 26, 2012 Author Posted November 26, 2012 very reasonable price drop for a qual-ity bass
tom1946 Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Could I ask why you took the pickguard off? Low action without buzzing? (I just bought a new Antig' Precision so the jazz would be nice....)
Jigster Posted November 26, 2012 Author Posted November 26, 2012 Hi Tom, I took it off because a prospective buyer wanted to know if there were any tooling marks underneath Then decided not to buy! Grrr.
tom1946 Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Eh? Maybe I should have asked the shop to check mine?
Jigster Posted November 27, 2012 Author Posted November 27, 2012 I should have added because he prefers his basses to ride bare back - ie. no pickguard
Jigster Posted December 1, 2012 Author Posted December 1, 2012 beyond me how this hasn't been snapped up
Happy Jack Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 Have you got a precise weight for this bass?
