PaulWarning Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Just watched Green Day at Reading, it's on teletext, not a bad thing to do, play a short 'secret' gig on a smaller stage, did they only do half an hour? but I do wish Billy Jo would cut out that tiresome A O crap Quote
Lozz196 Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Nice quick set, full of energy, but yeah, that A O stuff is wearing a bit thin. Mike Dirnts stack of Fender Amps looked very nice. Quote
Billy Apple Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 (tries not to look uncool).. So, er, what does A O mean? Quote
PaulWarning Posted August 30, 2012 Author Posted August 30, 2012 haven't got a clue, anybody know where it comes from? perhaps I'll start another thread asking Quote
mep Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 A O, lost on me too. Someone please enlighten us. Quote
GeeCee Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012
A O, lost on me too. Someone please enlighten us.
I have not seen it, but I am guessing a call and response type thing, like ogie, ogie ...oi, oi (A O = ay oh) Quote
4 Strings Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Whether you actually like them or not they really know what they're doing. Quote
deanoet Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 AFAIK It was an hour set originally, BBC Three did the 30 mins highlights I would think there would be some poor mobile footage of the full thing on youtube by now though Quote
zero9 Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 One of the few 'watchable' acts at Reading this year. Quote
chrisba Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 I'm not really a fan, but, my god, they were slick, tight and very, very good at what they do. I haven't watched everything from Reading, but they were the most professional outfit I saw. Quote
mrtcat Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Green Day and The Foo Fighters were hands down the best of the festival. There's definately a reason they're the biggest names there. Quote
I like them, but not exactly a fan either, got a couple of CDs, unlikely I`d ever go to see them, but from what I saw of Reading they were hands down the best. Quote
Stan_da_man Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Every Time I Die were band of the weekend for me - shouldn't say it, but they did indeed very much crush it. Quote
LeftyBiskit Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 I've seen G.D twice -both at Old Trafford(Lancs.CC) Brilliant each time, but for the life of me I still cant get what all the A O bollox was all about. just thought I 'd chuck a 2p into the mix. Trev. Quote
Spike Vincent Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Can't stand 'em,but they're tight as tight can be,andI'll talk technical with Mike Dirnt again any day. Quote
