Highfox
The Rezillos at the Marquee in 78. Just before they released Top of the Pops as a single. Gobbing (tho not by me) was very much the order of the day I seem to remember. It was a good show.

clarkpegasus4001
That's the one - I went to the 4th Aug show , the first one of the two. The album was In through the Out Door - one of the tracks 'All of my Love'. In the middle is a little fanfare like synth solo. More than anything ever , in my life , hearing that solo acts as a time machine for me. I'm a hope filled 18 year old on a balmy summers night again. Where this fat , miserable bastard came from I've no idea !!!
I was 18 at the time. I arrived when Chas and Dave were playing. I was standing just in front of the mixing desk. Very hot day as I recall.

alyctes
ummm. Hawklords, maybe? Can't remember who the bassist was. More likely, though, Here And Now, so that would have been Keef Da Missile Bass

BigRedX
I think a lot of us mention bands like Gillan and Maiden etc as, in those days (late 70s, early 80s), bands did 40 date UK tours and played Bristol, Cardiff, Swansea etc and everyone could afford to get there and see them.
I lived in Swansea for a year 1979-80 and virtually no bands travelled that far west to play. If you wanted to see anyone decent you had to go to Cardiff.
