LukeJackson
hey guys, so i have a ESP LTD F-105 It hasnt always had this problem but lately has had a really low output (6 months or so), its not the strings they have been changed, its not the battery that has also been changed, the low B has a really loud output but everything else seems to disappear, any advice? MiltyG565
you haven't screwed the pickup down? im not much of a tech head, but its either something very simple, or something like, your preamp is fecked. couldn't diagnose it myself though. Stacker
What you may be hearing, with this low output, is the active circuit not being engaged due to it not being powered by the battery. Have a look at the battery terminals, esp if it's the push contact. This is a known problem with MM basses that have the flip-up battery compartment. MiltyG565
yes, that sounds like what it could be. the only time my active bass ever has a low output is when the battery is low.
stingrayPete1977
Double check that 'new' battery too, sometimes they are flat before you even open the packet! Or sometimes I have left a bass plugged in and flattened it that way, not for many years now though.
LukeJackson
i put a new battery in this morning, still really low :/
stingrayPete1977
Could be a duff jack socket too, if it does not contact fully it wont turn the pre amp on.
