So I am setting up a facebook page for my new band. I have noticed recently that a couple of local bands have set their band pages up like you would if you were joining facebook for yourself.

My previous bands page was a standard group page.

The only difference I can see is that you need a separate email address if you are going to set up a band page using the personal page route.

Anyone got any views on this, or does it not really matter?

I have all three - my personal page, a group (for a bass discussion group) and band pages one, two and three.

The key difference that I can see between group and page is - with a page, you can post as the page, creating a persona for your band.

I prefer it this way...

That might be the way to go I think. Cheers.
