TomWIC
Hello all, I've recently acquired an Ashdown ABM 410 as an upgrade from my MAG 410 and I'm very pleased with it indeed. Now that I have a spare 410, I may be trading it with another BC'er for a Hartke VX115. Anyone know how these two cabs will sit together in regards to any differences in tone and sound? cheddatom
How do the two 4 x 10s sound together? Personally, i'd rather that than trade one for a 15.
chris_b
What amp are you using and what music are you playing? Why would the ABM not be enough on it's own? I'd keep the 2 410's. Well, I'd try the ABM and just sell the other. If I wanted another cab I'd look at adding an ABM 210.
TomWIC
As much as I'd like to keep two 410s, the worsening state of my back and my car leads me to off the MAG. chris_b: Peavey Tour 700 and I play metal with both my bands, and unfortunately, 500W at 8ohms from the Peavey just doesn't cut it with hard hitting drummers and two guitarists in each band - that extra 200W from running a 4ohm load makes all the difference. Lozz196
If I wanted another cab I'd look at adding an ABM 210.
That would be my preferred option. I`ve done this with both Marshall and Ampeg 410s, added a 210 in, and it really does make a difference. There will be some that say you should only ever add the same cab in again, but, as long as the ABM 210 handles more than 250 watts - and the one I`ve seen handles 350 - you should be fine. Let the ears decide. The 410 & 210 is also beneficial as you can use the 410 on its own for rehearsals, and only drag the 210 along when gigging. No need to change eq`s etc.
