risingson Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Unfortunately for me that's a total eyesore. I think my band might also laugh at me and try and open bottles of beer on it and such. Quote
paul_5 Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 I'd spend that money on 'thumb reduction surgery' for the two chaps who 'demoed' this bass in those videos. Fine, you can slap, but what about the versatility of the bass? Quote
deefer_dog Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Rather than that, I'd buy a EBMM, and spend the remainder on some beers, and a new 3D TV. Yup. Quote
thisnameistaken Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012
It should be about how it plays anyway, not what it looks like.
I think very few consumers would agree with you, and re-selling the thing would be difficult. I'm surprised anyone's still making these hideous 'singlecut' bass guitars to be honest. They all look awful. Like they've got a tumour. Quote
visog Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Never mind the looks, how does it sound? Then, how does it play? Finally how does it balance? If it's as light as people are saying, it may neck dive? I'm disappointed it doesn't have Damien's ramp. I suspect it ticks all the boxes above.... (apart from the ramp) Quote

xgsjx Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 If I was spending £2799 on a Skjold, it'd be the other one... http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Skjold_SS_5.html Quote

shizznit Posted September 8, 2012 Author Posted September 8, 2012 I have been away working for the past couple of days and just signed onto BC. I never expected this kind of reaction towards this bass!! LOL!!! Quote
Chris Horton Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 it's not my kind of thing at all but i can really appreciate the work that has gone into creating it Quote
pierreganseman Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 what ever ppl may think... skjold has managed to do unmistakable designs... you know straight away it's a skjold when you see one.. which is already quite an achievement in this ocean of jazz bass clone... sadly these basses have a low resale value (IMHO)... I bought mine ages ago for £900... Quote
grumble Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Its biggest selling point for me is that it looks nothing like a F*nd*r Pr*cIs*on so I'm already warming to it Makes me want to form a Flintstones tribute band tho Quote
