CPBass Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 (edited) Hi folks. The preamp on my Warwick Streamer Stage 1 has blown. I'm an absolute numpty when it comes to the electronics. Any advice on what I could replace it with to give it a bit of new life. I've seen so many different combinations that my brain is shot. It has a single Bartloini humbucking pickup and two stack knob controls. Where do I go from here? All help much appreciated. Cheers Edited September 7, 2012 by Voodoosnake Quote
CHRISDABASS Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 If i were you i'd give john east a call! http://www.east-uk.com He has a vast range of preamps that will fit in your bass with minimum fuss! Most of which come almost fully pre wired and have screw terminals for the pickups so you dont have to use a soldering iron! Quote
LukeFRC Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 How did you do that mate? Ask around for a replacement MEC one. they do come up time to time and when they do they don't cost too much. New ones are silly expensive. Bart preamps seem to be stuck in warwicks a fair bit, aguilar for more agressive tone. IMO, and IME Glockenklang doesn't work well. Quote
CPBass Posted September 7, 2012 Author Posted September 7, 2012 (edited) It just fried up Luke, sounded crap and noisy then just lost all tone. Sorted now. Cheers Chrisdabass. Just spoken to Mark at Bass Direct. John East system on its way. Simples! Cheers Col Edited September 7, 2012 by Voodoosnake Quote
CPBass Posted September 7, 2012 Author Posted September 7, 2012 It's a East BTB that is being wired up to split the humbucker so having vol vol on one stack and bass and treble on the other one. Should do the job nicely me hopes. Quote
