tommccartney
Hello there, As much as I love this amp for it's tone and looks, I've left my band and can't see me using it in the near future and therefore I can't justify keeping it... Here's some pictures: I bought this last year from thebassman - his post here http://basschat.co.u...ssman-135-1978/ He'd had this amp from new I believe and is from 1978. As you can read in his post he spent a lot of cash servicing this amp replacing the caps etc. I also had it serviced and revalved in January this year (a tube blew) by Rob Weinbrock at Weinbrock amps (top guy!) had a set of 6n3cE output tubes in which sound lovely - bit of info here on them http://jeffsplace.me/wordpress/?p=188 Aesthetically the amp is in great condition but noticeably has been recovered in Marshall red. I've only used this amp for some rehearsals and recording since the revalve so probably had around 50 hours use of the new valves. The cab I picked up off a mate who'd had it handed down through the ages. From what I can work out it's from the late 60's possibly '68, can't remember now where I read and worked this out but it's down to the old logo plate with the tail (amazingly these alone go for £100!) The cab is in pretty shabby condition, ripped tolex and only one handle intact. The speakers are original speakers as far as I'm aware, and IMO still sounds ace. Price = £700 o.no. no trades thanks. Collection would be necessary considering the size and weight - I live in Huddersfield Please message me should you need any further info or pictures, Tom Edited September 7, 2012 by tommccartney

davidlovellbass
What make are the speakers? If they're JBLs then they'll be worth pulling out the cabinet and selling

molan
How cool would this look if the cab was red tolex as well? Wonder if it's possible to get it recovered?
tommccartney
I must admit I was a bit sceptical of the red when I first bought this but it's really grown on me! You could easily retolex the cab yourself without too much hassle I'm sure... Don't think the speakers are JBLs, as I recall they are unbranded but they do sound good to my ears. Thanks Bassman, I'm in no mad rush to sell (other than the usual girlfriend complaints of it taking up space in the living room!) so might be here still when you have the funds Tom

karim8697
Hey, I know this was a while ago, but if anyones interested I have a 1980 bassman 135 silverface with 2x15 cab like this for sale. both the head and cab are black and a just a few little scuffs here and there. The main power switch looks like it has been replaced and the corner is missing from one of the handles on the cab but it is still fully functional as a handle. It is in perfect working order and I'm looking for £700. I'm based in Mid Devon and would prefer buyer to pick up, but would be willing to sort out delivery at the buyers expense if necessary. Viewing and testing encouraged If someone could explain to me in the terms of an idiot how to upload photos here I will gladly do so Cheers, Karim
