brabasam Posted September 7, 2012 Share Posted September 7, 2012 I've got two ashdown 8 ohm cabs and I've been daisy chaining them and connecting them up to my Ampeg head which can run at 4and8 ohms now I want to add another cab to the link will it be ok to run another 8ohm cab in the daisy chain just want to make sure it won't blow anything if any one can help that would be great cheers Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Mr. Foxen Posted September 7, 2012 Share Posted September 7, 2012 It isn't the daisy chain part that makes the difference, its connecting in series or parallel, however that is done, generally you'll need to do funny things for series connection, like make new leads. [/quote] You will need to mix up series and parallel connections to not go below minimum impedance. That can mean special cables or connecting boxes. But all that achieves is having lots of cabs connected, might end up with less volume than using less cabs, you need to decided what you want to achieve, then look into how to get there.
