ash Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 It's a Watkins or Wilson Sapphire. I'm going to have a bid as I did own one years ago and it had a nice neck. These were well made instruments but the pickups were comparatively weak compared to US basses. A shortcoming common to several UK guitar manufacturers in the 60s and 70s. Quote
oldslapper Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 That is the coolest bass I've seen for a while. Action looks like you'll need to get a bus to the fretboard, so probably not suitable for a beginner. But, worth a punt Ash, even if you need to do some work on the truss rod, which may be fine anyway! John Quote
Mr. Foxen Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Vintage wavy grovers are prob worth most of that. Quote

ash Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 No I had a maximum price that I put on it, I think it would have needed a lot of work and these come up fairly frequently at a reasonable price in better condition. Quote
