adriansmith247
Hi This seems like either a great deal or a cheap bag that won't be much better than a canvas bag. Padded 12mm for £60 Does anyone own one of these or know about it http://www.normans.co.uk/p-654-stentor-34-size-padded-rayon-canvas-double-bass-cover.aspx cheers Adrian
sarah thomas
It looks very like, if not identical to the one I've got, which is a fine bag The extra pockets and handles are a boon when it comes to manhandling the beast around. The only problem I've had in almost a year of (2nd hand) ownership is that a couple of zip pulls have broken off. The zips still work very well though. The only improvement I'd make is to have rucksack style straps on the back. Hope that helps.
FLoydElgar
Stay away from the Tom & Will cases... They suck. The stitching isn't very good on the straps... about 6 months worth of use and they have all dropped off... I use a wheel and the bag for protection. I'd suggest get the Rayon case and a good wheel. bassace
I don't get too precious about bags. As I use the car 100% I just need minimal protection from scratching/abrasions and am not too concerned about lots of padding. Like Sarah, I've suffered a few zip pull failures which is a bit of a PITA. Not too sure who made my bags, apart from the Upton one which is thickly padded and very heavy, but they're all OK. A zip failure would be unacceptable.

MandShef
I've got a Hindersine bag http://www.djmmusic.com/Itemdesc.asp?ic=DBB which I think was good value at just under £50. Padded, strong zips, lots of handles, handy extra pockets and rucksack straps. No wheels though (I ended up getting one of those fabulous bass buggies!). sarah thomas
I've just got a wheel off eBay. Now all I need is a little engine so I can ride the bass round the stage.

adriansmith247
That Hindersine bag looks good. Let me know what you think when you get it I have a cheap bag that came with the bass. Its OK. The only thing I get worried about is when I bash the head on doorways. The bass I have is so light I carry it everywhere and have never thought of using a trolley or wheel. Wouldn't bumping up and down kerbs risk damaging the bass?
MandShef
Wouldn't bumping up and down kerbs risk damaging the bass?
Hi Adrian, yes I think that's the problem with those wheels that stick in where the endpin goes, but the bass buggie is designed to help absorb shock, so it's a much smoother ride for the bass. If you find carrying your bass fairly easy then it's probably not worth the money (it's £120), but I struggle and was getting back ache lugging mine around! bassace
The only problem I can see from the photo is that there don't seem to be any lifting handles on the front. Two make it very easy to load a bass into an estate or hatchback.
