Judas Coyne
My friend is an artist, and recently offered to do some work for my bass. Loved the idea of having a one of a knd design pickguard design, so I accepted. The picture is still a work in progress. How would basschat suggest I get the art work applied? It's for a Musicman Stingray with a 3 ply (Black/White/Black) pickguard. Is there any places that do custom printed work like that, or would it work just drawing the design on and coating in with a fine spray on laquer? I have considered some form of laser engraving for it, as I'm still at college, I could probably try arrange this with the technology department. Would that work for engraving through the top layer, leaving the middle (white) and bottom (black) layers, and have a white design showing through? Thanks, Judas
Chris Horton
Is the art work a drawing or painting ? I guess the easiest way would be to cut the shape of the scratchplate out of some clear plastic , place the artwork underneath and then screw the clear scratchplate Onto the bass.
