toneknob
Tickets now on sale for a cinema near you... http://www.ledzeppelin.com/news/2012/09/13/celebration-day-cinema-listings My back of an envelope sums have just revealed that this gig was more popular on an applications per ticket basis than the 2012 Olympics. Music one, sport nil! Here's the trailer. wateroftyne
Yay! But... despite Newcastle being the location of LZ's first-ever UK gig, they aren't showing the film anywhere near here. Boo!
toneknob
Boo indeed! Versions on CD, DVD and BluRay or whatever the favoured AV format of the day will soon appear. "Celebration Day will then be available in multiple video and audio formats on November 19 from Swan Song/Atlantic Records. wateroftyne
Or - an opportunity for lots of people who missed them the first time round to get see them, and a chance for the band themselves to put the demons of Live Aid and the Atlantic Records concert behind them. Old men trying to re-live past glory's
More glorious than old, I'd say. Anyway, short of an attack of straightforward ageism, I don't see why musicians shouldn't be allowed to take to the stage whatever their age. If 'old' upsets you then don't watch or listen. Blademan_98
Not wanting to hijack a good thread for those who do like the revival of old bands, I will bow out. I will pay to see Eric Clapton (67) every year until he gives up

paul_5
I'm in. Never seen the Zep live and they've been such a big influence on me, I reckon this is the next best thing.
bluesparky
I'm definitiely getting it. At the time I was working on a tour which loaded out of the O2 the night before Zeppelin loaded in and we had a day off the next day - which was the day of the show - a few of us had the daydream of staying in the building and be unpaid extra pairs of hands to work for the day and watch the gig as a bunch of my good mates were working on it. We didn't though as I'd have had to have been in Manchester for 7am the morning after the gig - so we didn't even make and enquiries to that effect. The closest I've come to seeing the gig was listening to the rehearsals though, and that was good enough for me, until now. Whilst they were in production rehearsals up at Elstree film studios some members of the local crew had to stand in for the band and mime for an entire run-through of a recording of the show so the band could see what the whole show looked like in real time. I guess being JPJ's stand-in is a nice job if you can get it!

BarnacleBob
I nearly got the sack the day of the ticket release as I spent the entire day at work on the phones/pc even after several warnings. Didn't get through :-( I was at Knebworth in 79 though :-) Does anyone remember if the original TSRTS film did much of a cinema round? I remember having to go to a late night showing at the GFT to catch it. There was a wee spate of music films White Rock etc in that era. Tommy being the most high profile I suppose. Clarky
I saw Song Remains The Same at the cinema (Tunbridge Wells) some time in the 1970s and also White Rock and the Yessongs Live film.
