Jared Followills tone!

Hey guys!,

I need some help getting Jareds clean tone (listen to any song by Kings Of Leon) on the Line 6 lowdown, i know he use a SVT CL into an 8x10 (which I can replicate using the amp) but thats it.. Im not good with EQs so help would be appreciated!

That is pretty much it really. You should be able to get pretty close with a flat EQ and the right amp simulation; just add or remove mids to taste depending on if you're playing with a band or to the records.

Nice to see some Followill appreciation going on, massively underrated bassist!

I find him kinda underrated the guys what 25? He is overlooked by many people as a brilliant bass player!

I'm not a massive KoL fan, but his tone on 'On Call' record is pretty great! Lots and lots of reverb - and pretty percussive pick playing.

Got to say.. of all the sounds you could have chased after, this one is going to be the easiest.
There is nothing going on there that a thumpy clanky dulled-off sound will not get close to.

The Thunderbird is not noted for producing a distinctive sound...it is more a distinctive look and therein lies the appeal as opposed to the Musicman or
even a P-bass which can only be replicated by same. IMO.

I agree there are much nicer tones, but each to there own. I like Jared's tone.

Not saying it a bad tone... it is a tone you are after and should be able to get relatively simply with decent gear.
