For Sale: Vintage Fender Jazz Bass. 1973

Hi, I am selling my Fender Jazz Bass. It is dated pre-December 1973. USA manufactured. 4 Bolt.

Serial Number: 502198

It has some signs of wear and tear due to age/gigging etc. But it is still a fantastic looking guitar.

I have had it re-wired at The Morningside School of Music [url="http://www.edinburghguitarrepair.co.uk/"]http://www.edinburghguitarrepair.co.uk/[/url] because it has not been used for a good few years. Feel free to contact them and ask about the quality of the guitar.

It plays and sounds fantastic.

Just to clear things up. I wanted to sell the guitar on Ebay but they wouldn't upgrade my sellers allowance. So I thought I would make it clear in the item description exactly how much I wanted for the guitar and could any potential buyers contact me personally. I honestly didn't expect anybody who read the description to then go ahead and place a bid.

It doesn't matter what you write in a description - if you put it on ebay with no reserve & a starting bid of 1p - what the heck do you expect people to do?

I've been buying/selling on ebay for donkeys years and never heard of a sellers cap? I've sold things from 1p start price to £8500 start price, never had any contact from ebay telling me there are limits?

I'm not doubting the story, just never heard of it myself.

Me neither. You just have to pay for any reserve price that you put on - simple as that.

I honestly feel that the site should restrict sales to new members until they have made a set number of posts.

The sellers cap on ebay just means that if you have sold over a certain amount that month you can't sell anymore until ebay confirm your address. The way they do that is send a letter with a number on it to your address. You input that number on ebay and automatically your limit goes up. My limit went from £850 per month to over £3000 per month. Just request a higher limit and ebay will issue the confirmation letter for you.
