CrapBassist Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Yet another return-to-bass here. I played in a rock covers band (haven't we all...?) a few years back but had to flog everything after I pupped the Mrs. The only thing I kept hold of was my Warwick Corvette 4 string, and that was only because I could put it in the loft out of sight of 'er indoors. After a few too many beers and a blues brothers-esque epiphany, we decided to put the band back together, so now I'm on the hunt for a cheap and cheerful combo to get me through a few gigs to get some coin to buy a proper set up again. All those years of just being told to "just play root notes, will ya?" have taken their toll and I'm now getting a bit more adventurous and melodic rather than just thudding my way through songs. Having thought about it, for the first few years I could probably have coped with just the E and A strings... cheers! Iain. Quote
steve-bbb Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 you could always explain that you saw a second-hand warwick for sale on the forum here and realised it was your old bass so you saved up to buy it back at a real bargain price Quote
BassTractor Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Hey Iain, Welcome to BC and welcome back to bass. It's buyers' market these days, so a cheap combo is waiting for you at another basschatter's house. Good luck with the chase. best, bert Quote
Roland Rock Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Adventurous? Melodic? Straying from the root note? Get out! :-) Welcome to BC btw Quote
