Delberthot
This bass began life as 2 basses -a Fender Geddy Lee Jazz and a MIM Fender Jazz. The neck was removed from the Geddy, along with the Badass and a Mex Fender Jazz bass neck and BBOT bridge installed in their place. A black scratchplate was installed in place of the white one which I think improves the look of it. The fit of the neck is nice and tight and overall condition is very good, just a couple of small chips but nothing unusual for a bass of its age. It plays very well and for all intents and purposes sounds like a Geddy. A Mex Jazz goes for anywhere between £300-350 and a Geddy £600-650 so I think £420 posted to mainland UK seems about right The bass will be posted in a case with the original white scratchplate. The latches on the case don't click or whatever to tell you they're closed properly so we'll call the case a freeby purely to post the bass in. I'm sure its fine but don't want to take the chance Trades would be either a fretless or MIM Fender P Bass Deluxe ( a green FSR like I already have in my sig would be ideal ) And now the pics Edited October 26, 2012 by Delberthot
Delberthot
I had to withdraw this temporarily as I found the 5th fret at the D string was a bit high resulting in a bit of buzzing. I've now rectified this and given the frets a good polish as well. Its ready to rock, just unfortunate that I can't justify keeping it as its a cracking bass. More pics added as well and price dropped to £420 delivered to mainland UK. gjones
I did exactly the same with my Geddy Lee. Strangely, the change from the very thin maple Geddy neck to the rosewood neck gave the bass a much deeper tone which I actually preferred. Good luck with the sale
Delberthot
Cheers - it actually looks much better in the flesh as well Feel free to make me a reasonable offer Edited October 21, 2012 by Delberthot
Delberthot
The urge to get myself a fretless is proving too much so until I regain control I could be tempted by a trade for a decent fretless or a MIM Fender Precision Deluxe (especially a green FSR like I already have) with the trade value of my bass being £500 Alternatively, I have two other sweeteners if you're interested in a straight sale and pay the asking price: 1 ) A boxed and near mint condition Boss ODB-3 Bass Overdrive 2 ) A Hipshot D-tuner with a scratch on one side of the tuning thingy but fully working apart from that Yes folks - pay the asking price of £420 delivered within mainland UK and choose one of the above absolutely free. But that's not all: You'll also receive with the bass the original white scratchplate and what looks like a black pearl one as well You'd never guess I used to be a salesman Edited October 25, 2012 by Delberthot
