bassgeek
I don't use effects, but I've been looking at volume pedals just recently, and it's a can of worms...I need something that has a linear response across the range, and has a pedal with quite a bit of resistance (so when you take your foot off, it doesn't move, and flip onto max volume)...and has good quality components that don't compromise the sound, and won't fail a few months down the line ...I would be very grateful for any advice anyone has to offer...as the prices range from £45 to several hundred, and I haven't a clue... Thanks, bassgeek...
thisnameistaken
Actually in a volume pedal you don't want a linear response you want an exponential curve from the internal pot - that's why expression pedals are no good as volume controls. The Ernie Ball VP Jr is pretty popular and does everything you ask. I've got one myself but I use it as an expression pedal (and changed the pot!) dudewheresmybass
Apart from the ernie ball, the boss fv500 is great. Really adjustable and costs less than the ernie It also has an exp out too, which works really well Edited September 17, 2012 by dudewheresmybass
