Best acoustic bass guitar on denmark street?

Hi folks

Have to do an acoustic session imminently.

Can anyone recommend a good sub 250 quid acoustic bass guitar that I could pick up on denmark street? I know NOTHING about these things!

Dunno about Denmark Street but I was looking for one the other day and played a black Aria Electro Acoustic. Actually it was really nice, smooth and easy to play and I hate Arias usually! It was secondhand though at £170, and in Brighton. If you go for the Phantom branded ones they are all pretty much the same anyway. Fender do some pretty low priced acoustic guitars, not sure about the basses - but you can't go wrong with them, if its a dog you can sell it easily enough

I think the issue with all of them is going to be volume. I play double bass but the thing is an acoustic only in a small space (radio station) so I thought it might a solution but looks like it won't work. I'll just play acoustic guitar and sing I think...

Had a play on a couple. Meek acoustic sound (for obvious reasons) and less than stellar plugged in. Plugged in, I would just use a great electric bass.
