Ashdown BTA series

Been drooling over the Ashdown CTM 300 in recent weeks but doing some searching came across this:-

Reverse hybrid head (solid state pre with valve power). I always thought these went for a fair amount (inc the 200 and 400 versions). I know this is ex demo but still seems like a great price! If only i was fully gigging at the moment id seriously consider this. Anyone had any dealing with the BTA's?

No dealing with BTA, but dealings with Ashdown aplenty, if I didn't have massive valve amps in floor to ceiling stacks, and wanted one, this would be something I'd consider.

The brilliant ABM preamp stage coupled with a decent valve ouptut stage. What's not to like? Now, if only I had 999 pound notes available....

The BTA is a great amp,especially when paired with an 8x10 cab. It's got a really great tone
and it's dead loud. It's only problem is that it is heavy-I wouldn't want to carry it to gigs.

Is this what Nate Mendel used on the new Foos record? Loved the bass tone on that

According to Bass Player magazine,Nate used an ABM 900 with 8x10 cab on the new
Foo's album. He does use the BTA 400 live though,again with 8x10's.

Interesting, thought Wasting Light had a much gritier tone than previous records and put that down to the all valve head

The Ashdown ABM valve drive, when the input is set properly, gives a deliciously gritty sound to my ears. I must have a listen to that album.....
