Just curious if there is a Warwick with a chunky neck other than the double buck model?

Most of the Warwick's I've tried have quite skinny jazz bass like necks which I don't mind but I'd rather a more Precision type width if possible.

megallica - Are you referring to front-to-back thickness or width at the nut? We have many neck profiles and options, which can be seen here: http://warwick.de/modules/custom_shop/options.php?TYP=WOOD_NECK&submenuID=14620&katID=14626&cl=EN Please let me know if you have any questions or need assistance in any way. Thanks!

Yeah sorry for being so vague, I was refering to nut width.
Reading the neck dimensions on the Warwick site, if I was looking for a 44mm "special" nut width would I have to go for a custom build?

Thanks

Try a 4 string BO model after the Millennium. Some of them, particularly Corvettes, seem to have massive baseball bat necks. That said, I thought the 'Broad Neck' on my 2003 Thumb BO would feel massive. It's actually very manageable because it's flattened across the back in a way that won't be unfamiliar to Yamaha TRB owners. Quite a surprise! It's still a handful, though a pleasingly usable one!

I agree! Just got a 2002 Streamer LX5 and it's one of them baseball bat affairs, but very manageable indeed. Funny you should mention the TRB, I have owned two TRB5II's and the profile of the rear is indeed somewhat similar. The Warwick is thicker though, somewhat more 'square' if you know what I mean. The TRB has more radiused sides of the neck.

I know that about Warwick necks changes

So the modern shape is the U shape while the pre 2000 shape is the C shape?
Was this when they changed from wenge to ovangkol for the majority of neck woods?

Warwick Official will tell us more.
But what i know : these neck changes happened much after Wood changes, Wenge to Ovangkol in late 90's.

I used to own a Thumb necktrough 4 string, beautiful instrument but the neck was to round and thin for me. When i found a 5 string Thumb it was perfect for me, a slim D shape. I only kept this one.

We changed back to the slim neck from the chunky neck in late 2009/ early 2010. We now offer 3 neck profiles on 4 and 5 string basses, and a 4th option (Broadneck) on 5 and 6 string basses. The diagram above is not current. You can see the current details here: http://warwick.de/mo...tID=14626&cl=EN

The standard neck is C-shape, and the fatneck and extra slim are options. The broadneck is 20mm string spacing and is an option on 5 and 6 string basses. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks!!
