LukeFRC Posted November 28, 2012 Author Posted November 28, 2012 Who loves JV squiers? Seem to be a lot up for sale at the moment... and cos I've had didley squat interest in mine (mind you I've not been trying hard) I though - for the love of everything JV squier we would have a wee market placeness..... First up... Gareth's lovely looking 62ri Precision - 3 tone sunburst and a tort guard. JV3xxxx serial looks mega. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/192909-jv-squire-precision-all-original/ Then... Gareth's even nicer looking matching 62ri Jazz bass - again JV3xxxx serial and agian in cracking condition... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/192362-jv-squire-jazz-sunburst-all-original/page__p__1874916__hl__squier%20jv__fromsearch__1#entry1874916 (and if you don't like sunburst, have a hunt in his previous posts too...) Talking of matching pairs... Rick has his amazing pair of Jazz and P bass - a bit like Gareths pair except these are first editions (like mine, and like mine he's not bumped it for a while) both in great condition. And... oh I thought there was a few more on the boards that had been up for sale recently, maybe not!
jamondrums Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Can I tempt you with £1000 cash, me collect... Or a trade for my Phil Simmonds Lakland + cash your way. Couldn't PM you for some reason...
LukeFRC Posted November 29, 2012 Author Posted November 29, 2012 (edited) jamondrums went for another bass so this is still about. Edited November 30, 2012 by LukeFRC
wombatboter Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 I bought a similar one recently but with a jazz pick up added... sounds amazing and inspires me a lot (and in the end that's all that matters) There is something really solid about these basses and there's a nice growl in it.. good luck with yours ! LukeFRC Posted November 29, 2012 Author Posted November 29, 2012
I bought a similar one recently but with a jazz pick up added... sounds amazing and inspires me a lot (and in the end that's all that matters) There is something really solid about these basses and there's a nice growl in it.. good luck with yours !
nice playing there - yeah I love the sound of them that growl and top end is one of the main things I would miss if this did go. I thought it had, lined up the replacement and then not.... so I think i will leave it a day or two and then keep the thing for good. It's not like it's a bad bass!
wombatboter Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 This is my JV (it still has Fender on the headstock followed by Squier)... Really like it, one of the best basses I have ever owned and not planning to let it go (even my cat likes it !)
jamondrums Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Will probably end up kicking myself repeatedly for not taking this but females don't understand that just because it LOOKS like a bass you already have doesn't mean it's the same. Bah. Thanks Luke. Someone grab this bass. At that price it's an incredible deal. Nice saving. Bump bump.
LukeFRC Posted November 30, 2012 Author Posted November 30, 2012 and you know what... having played it lots today trying to work out if I wanted to keep it or let it go.... and after being swayed by a nice fella (who needs to get posting elsewhere and get his post count up! ) I think this is now pretty much WITHDRAWN im keeping it, it's mine - simply nothing else does motown sounds like a P.
