Thanks, Fred! A truly beautiful Ex Factor, but I am looking only to sell my Zon right now.

Glossy or Satin?

The Mid-Range Knob is an extra options worth $100 ;)

no dings??

Glossy! The mid-range knob is IMHO one of the coolest things on this bass :) Few dings on the headstock, nothing that affects the playability.

Not sure about any others who are watching this thread, but I'd love to hear it in action - any sound clips? Also, with there being no truss rod, what's the deal with using different gauge strings? I.e. do you end up with higher action if you use heavier strings?

Cheers,

Oli

Thats the beauty of these composite stiff necks from ZON...
it does not move much the action by changing strings gauge :)
all you need to do is change some minor string height on the bridge saddles ;)

i did put some piccolo strings on my ZON VB4 lately... no action fix needed!

For Sound, check this out:

I have the same model that Stuart is playing and that neck pick up (of the one for sale here) closer to the bridge really intrigues me.

Yeah, same here. I imagine it to have a punchy/growly tone like a Warwick Fortress Mastermann or a MusicMan 'Ray. I really do love the tone of the Zon basses; so clear and rounded. Lovely!

Hi Wolfgang,

Sorry but I haven't received your pm. I have checked my pm box, nothing. Can you please resend it and post here you've sent it again to be able to control it?

Hmm..nice... I could play some Faith No More with it

Actually we did few FNM covers as I am a huge fan of them :) "Caffeine", "Digging the grave", "King for a day". And I used this Zon. Let me tell you it sounded very close to Mr. Gould's Zon, although I believe he's got a different pick ups' configuration on his Zon!

I bet it sounds wicked! I do "Digging the grave" and "Gentle art" with my covers band ;) Love to have of these basses but I'm saving for Spector NS as we're doing Alice In Chains tribute now..
Good luck with the sale :)
