paul_5
Anybody tried one of these power bricks - my current supply has started its downward decline and I need a quick, cheap replacement - how good are these? http://www.maplin.co.uk/9v-power-bank-for-guitar-effect-pedals-31292
Thor
I tried one - was okay to start with but depends on how many effects you're using/power consumption, it used to produce quite a hum through the signal chain - replaced it with a Diago Powerstation and have been really impressed with it. paul_5
cheers for that, I'm keen to avoid hum so I reckon I'll have to up my game.
mike257
Johnny Shredfreak sell an own branded power supply that is actually the same unit as the Diago and a good few quid cheaper. I've had one powering my guitar board for a while now with no issues, its a bargain!
bertbass
Had one of these and it broke pretty quickly. Used the case to build my own power supply into and it works a treat now.
Mudpup
I have a Maplin one - had it 4 months with no issues and no noise either. Powers a Boss CEB 3 Chorus, Hartke Bass Attack and a Korg Pitchblack Poly tuner.
simwells
For an extra couple of quid I'd pick up the Diago Micropower9 and daisy chain them
kizzer
I had one of those Maplin one's, was ok on certain pedals, but very noisy with others. I guess its pot luck really! I have recently bought 3 isolated power supplies from Thomann's Harley Benton range. Their fully isolated and are rip off's of the T- Rex fuel tank junior. No complaints so far, silent, well built, each powers 5 pedals and cost about £24 each! Would highly recommend! Carlos
Hi, does the Harley Benton Junior come with a UK plug?
kizzer
No, afraid not. You can use a UK adaptor or just do what I did, which is lop off the end and replace it with a UK plug!
