karlfer Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 I played bass for Chris Rea's band (The Losers) for a couple of weeks, back in the day. Think I could put my Glaub out at £1250? Quote
steve-soar Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 I want to hurt whoever did this. Quote
Mr. Foxen Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Sometimes, Gibson players wish they had a Wishbass. Quote

BigRedX Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012
WHY???
Because in the early 80s no-one wanted them and they were stupidly cheap. Therefore they were seen as ripe for modifications. These days no-one would really bat an eyelid at doing this to an SX or Sue Ryder. These 70s Gibsons were seen in the same way back then. Anyone with any money bought an Ibanez or an Aria Pro II. DarkHeart Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 a paralympian special, edition? thats just wrong!! Quote
stingraybassman Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 It looks like the bass equivalent of someone after extreme diet, bet if you got up close there would be excess skin and stretch marks. Horrific. Quote
Roland Rock Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 'Butchered' is too good a word. Butchery is a skilled and noble profession. Someone has hewn this bass into the likeness of a depressed sheep. Quote
bassmoof Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Now separated into choice cuts and available back on e-bay. Quote
waynepunkdude Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Some people do some seriously stupid thing, I mean, buying a Gibson bass...... Quote

Shockwave Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 No matter. Dealt with the seller on BC and snagged the Pickup and slide for £50 shipped. The Grabber pups are pretty unique, have been known to fall apart and break inside the pickup to make them unusable. Best to have a backup for mine! Quote
bassmoof Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 The rest of the parts are available if anyone need something for their grabber. Thanks, shockwave for buying the pu, its posted and on its way. Took me a while to get the Devo connection, then I remembered their fondness for oddly shaped instruments. Quote
