steve-soar Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 (edited) I've come to the end of my battery stash and need some Duracells or equivalent 9 volt batteries to put in my basses and pedals. Where do you buy yours? I've looked on ebay but I'm non the wiser. I tried those Duracell Pro Cell and they were rubbish, lasted no where near as long as the copper tops. I need about 20. Any ideas? Zenitram Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 I use these: http://www.7dayshop....ce&ajax=1&sl=sl But that's because I'm cheap. Silvia Bluejay Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 +1. I got them from Amazon recently (same price IIRC). They are good. Quote
steve-soar Posted September 27, 2012 Author Posted September 27, 2012 What do you use them for and how long do they last. I'm I just brainwashed by Duracells advertising? Who makes a cheaper equivalent? Quote
Hobbayne Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Or you go the rechargeable route. neepheid Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 (edited) Edited because I can't read. I would say that I've had no problems with Duracell Procells. Edited September 27, 2012 by neepheid Quote

LiamPodmore Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 I just buy Duracells from my local hardware shop. £2 each, and i don't buy them often so I'm not too bothered about 'wasting' a bit of money on them. Which reminds me, i should replace the battery in my P sometime soon, i don't think it's been done for over a year. Liam Quote
Si600 Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 (edited) Maplins were doing BOGTwoF on batteries last time I was in there, but that may have finished now. Edited September 27, 2012 by Si600 Quote
steve-soar Posted September 27, 2012 Author Posted September 27, 2012 Cheers. Will check Maplins. Quote

Floyd Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Batteries in guitars last a long time and if they leak they'll do lots of damage. Put a good battery in your bass and cheapies in the pedals. Pedals are easier to clean out. Quote

Do they last as long as ordinary Duracells? When I put fresh batteries into my basses, I scratch the date on the side. The Procells lasted about a month in my Stingray. Quote
xilddx Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Really? I've never had a problem with em. Quote

Big_Stu Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 If you or a family member have a job that qualifies get an account at Costco. They do all sizes of Duracell in packs, 9v come in packs of 8 or 9, I think I paid £11 last time. No chance of cheap copies & stacks of other cheap stuff going; I got a pair of 501s for £35 last month!! Quote
chaypup Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 I had a case of batteries only lasting a monthor less in my bass, then I discovered that there was a short in the circuit which meant the active circuit was on even when a jack wasn't plugged in. Now the Procells I get last for months and months. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10-Duracell-9V-Procell-Batteries-MN1604-6LR61-PP3-block-/160507757092?pt=UK_ConsumerElectronics_Batteries_SM&hash=item255f020224 These are cheap and delivered super quick too - god bless Babz! When I read it years later I panicked (I've got one), only to realise that I was playing my 2007 Corvette, still fitted with its own theoretically long-expired battery, in 2009! Edit for wrong dates, mixup as I've got two Corvettes. I panicked for the 2007 one, even if it was a year younger than the faulty ones, 'cos I'm a panicky bass owner Edited September 27, 2012 by bluejay Quote

Put a standard copper top in after it and it's still going strong 10 months later. Quote
