It's an unusual headstock and mine had wooden tuning pegs - when I put mine up after first joining everyone started talking about something called the 'Lowden-era'. I'd ask EBS Freak, he knows all about the Goodfellow stuff. I traded my musicman 4 string for one o these, ironically :P .

I've a friend who has a similar one (a 4-string which used to be mine), and that's a Lowden-era one. There are folks on here who are more expert than me who can give a more definitive answer, but it's a lovely bass nonetheless.

Just to confirm - Lowden era. Bernie was out of the Goodfellow operation before the 5 string went to market (and Bernie was never happy with the design that they took to market). A great bit of history to own though - you rarely see a 5 string come to market - especially in this condition.
