NancyJohnson Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 I know there's appreciating classics and there's junk, but £200+. I seem to remember these being on sale exclusively at Woolworths in the 1970s for about £20.00. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Satellite-shortscale-bass-guitar-60s-70s-superb-/290777510009?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item43b3b0b079 P Quote
BassBus Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Always use the rarity tag to bump up the price. I'm sure people will see this for what it is. They seem to on other "rare" guitar auctions. Quote

Hobbayne Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Wow! This was the first bass guitar I ever owned! (Well, not this actual one) I got it from Exchange & Mart in West Ealing (Precursor to Cash Converters) In the summer of 1982. I got some adhesive stickers to put on the frets with the notes on. And yes, it was a pile of sh*te! I got a Westone Thunder 1 soon after. Quote
Happy Jack Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012
I got some adhesive stickers to put on the frets with the notes on.
What a great idea! Don't suppose you still have them, do you? Quote
Zenitram Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 I sometimes put things up for sale with outrageous prices, just to see if anyone will go for it, and sometimes they do. Things are worth what people are prepared to pay for them. Quote
Muzz Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 My first bass was one of these, back in, erm, probably 77. Utter pile of, but it got me started. I think it was £22. Quote
