sbrag Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 My local rehersal studio has a peavey tmax head as part of their basic backline. I really like the tone especially the valve channel. Im just trying to get an idea of their cost 2nd hand. Cheers Quote
Mr. Foxen Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Since you are in Bristol, there is a Tmax 2x10 combo (the same head, mounted in a case). Give him a call. http://www.heronmusic.co.uk/ Quote
sbrag Posted September 30, 2012 Author Posted September 30, 2012 Cheers. I've seen it its nice with reinforced cab but i think they were asking about £500 which is a bit steep for me at the moment so was just curious how much the heads were on their own to see of its any more affordable.thanks again Quote
ratking Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 (edited) Played the T-Max head in my old (black/thrash metal) band, great amp - actually preferred it over the Ampeg SVT-3pro (which I originally wanted to buy before I came across the T-Max). Wanted something lighter after a while, but tone-wise it's still one of those amps I regret having sold! But 500£ is way overpriced ... Got mine for about 150£ (though it really was a great deal), but from time to time they appear on ebay or the 2nd hand market for about 180-250£. If you don't mind the weight and like the tone, and find one in good condition in that price range - go for it, they really are great, reliable amps Edited October 1, 2012 by ratking Quote
