Tokai Jazz mid 2000's - any good

I've been watching one on evilbay and wondered if these are as good as the reputation of the 80's production that seem to have good press on here and elsewhere?

Depends on where it was made. If it's made in Japan then most likely yes. Anywhere else then unfortunately it's probably no better than any other bass made in that country except it will have an over-inflated price due to the name on the headstock.

Not bidding seriously just watching for curiosity really. It went for £190 in the end.

I had a little bid but it got a bit rich for buying something without playing it and i chickened out.
Wonder if a basschatter got it?

Thinking about picking up a jazz or precision for the stable.

Bit late now it's been sold,but I have mid 2000's Korean made Tokai Thunderbird,which is an extremely well made quality instrument that is easily as good as my mid 80's Japanese made Precision.
