pete bigmatch Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Just a quick one I have got a Yamaha 1005 natural colour Thinking about a overwater aspiration deluxe by tanglwood 5 string again Whats your thoughts Quote
Cosmo Valdemar Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 I would definitely suggest you go for the Overwater because you already have the Yamaha. Quote
pete bigmatch Posted October 3, 2012 Author Posted October 3, 2012 Yes that would be nice but sadly no It is more of an either or question Quote
KiOgon Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Stick with the Yamaha & save up until you can afford a proper bass not one churned out of a factory in China, it's only gas Quote
Sean Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 ^ this. The TRB1005 could well turn out to be better than the Tanglewood and that would be gutting. Quote
Machines Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 I've had a Tanglewater Contemporary J5, it was good but I wouldn't think much of an improvement over a Yamaha TRB. Quote
Chris Horton Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Those TRB 1005's are fantastic instruments for the money !!! I'd keep it Quote
Ruck Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Atleast Yamaha have their own Factory, quality control and assessment where as alot of "budget" basses are produced all by one factory. Not entirely sure how true that is but I believe Samick used to make alot of guitars for alot of well known brands Quote
Horizontalste Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I'd stick with the TRB, purely because I think we are spoilt for choice. It's taken alot of money and about a decade for me to discover that if you find a bass that works for you, you can create your own sound/ style. Rather than following trends. Quote
