Seem to recall that Pastorius got pissed of with Zawinul playing the same line alongside in his latter time with WR. And, does anyone remember the BS flying about in muso mags in the '80s with guys saying that, with the arrival of more versatile keyboards and powerful MIDI sequencing, that the bass guitar was dead?? tinyd Posted April 8, 2013 Share Posted April 8, 2013 I get the impression that a lot of keyboard players learn to play basslines with their left hands as a core part of learning the instrument. So I suppose once they get into a band with a bass player their success will be based on how quickly they can 'un learn' this.
