ojplaysbass
Hi all - I've got a squier p bass (silver series - MIJ) which I really like but has had a machine head bent and ruined - the problem I have is that these aren't the same size as my MIM bass - the ferrule is too small for the MIM peg. does this mean: a) jap squiers all have small tuning pegs and i just need to seek a jap replacement MIMs have larger than normal pegs? c) the silver series in particular have freakishly small hardware and i have slim chances of finding a replacement cheers J
gjones
C) is the answer. A lot of Japanese Fender basses have smaller tuner hole sizes. My Silver series Squier Jazz and MIJ 57 reissue Precision both had smaller tuner holes. There should be tuners available to buy for smaller sizes. Measure them and do a search online. Alterntivly you can file them to a larger size as it's only a matter of mm.
