Sibob Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Perhaps a bit toooo specific hehe, but gives me an excuse for a picture: All are Japanese apart from the Taiwan one on the board. And no......I haven't plugged them all in together yet Si Quote
deanovw Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Ah, so its you that is single handedly controlling the market? No wonder I can't find one to buy. Quote
Sibob Posted October 5, 2012 Author Posted October 5, 2012 Ah Janek is winning by a margin, think he's on 13 or so?! lol Si Quote
charic Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 I think you have a problem Which ones your favourite? Have you named them? Quote
Si600 Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012
And no......I haven't plugged them all in together yet
Why not? Do it, do it, do it Quote
alstocko Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 (edited) Janek has eight, and is beating me by seven... EDIT - I checked with Janek, he has eight... Edited October 10, 2012 by alstocko Quote
E sharp Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 I've only the one . Si , I think it's less OC2 , more OCD Quote
gafbass02 Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Are you one of those 'doomsday preppers' ? Quote
SimonEdward Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Si - I can only see '6' OC-2's in your photo - what happened to the rest?!?! Quote
Sibob Posted October 14, 2012 Author Posted October 14, 2012 I believe that the world, post apocalypse, will be inherited by cockroaches and OC-2s, I'm simply allying myself early :-D Si Quote
waynepunkdude Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 OK I'm going to ask, why do you need more than one? Quote
Protium Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 I've got a Japanese one, it looks like them in the first pic Quote
alstocko Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 My one's a Taiwan model, would someone please explain the sound difference between the two models? (I'm assuming that the Japs are better) Quote
ahpook Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012
OK I'm going to ask, why do you need more than one?
yep, i'd like to know too Quote
Sibob Posted October 15, 2012 Author Posted October 15, 2012 It's a combination of using them a LOT, so going a bit overboard on spares (I've used an OC-2 for pretty much any musical situation in the last 5 years, sometimes two on same board).....and being a big 'vintage' Boss fan, so I have a nice little collection of a pedal I use all the time, works for me . There's not a huge difference between the 3 models (Japanese Octaver, Japanese Octave, Taiwan Octave). The Japanese ones are a tiny but warmer to my ears, but you wouldn't notice on a gig, the earlier Octaver has a slight dip in unison gain that I've grown to like. Plus the Japanese tend to hold worth better, although the Taiwan OC-2s are creeping up Si Quote
RandomProddy Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012
OK I'm going to ask, why do you need more than one?
For when you need a 12-octave drop, obviously Quote
Higgie Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 How much would it cost me to get you back down to 6, and sell me one of the Japanese OctaveR ones? Quote
thisnameistaken Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012
OK I'm going to ask, why do you need more than one?
I've got two on my board because I split my signal in two. Originally I just had an OC-2 in one channel (because I either wanted it solo or blended with my clean sound or effected sounds) but then I found there were loads of nice sounds to be had by putting an OC-2 infront of the stuff I had in the other channel as well, so I added a second for that. Can't imagine needing six although spares are always a good idea, but two is very sensible. Quote
jaydentaku Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 mine has no knobs, no foot plate and has been painted black (not by me!), I will save you from such explicit material. Quote
I'm certainly not suggesting that 7 is sensible But it is fun lol Si Quote
Billy Apple Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012
Using eight octave pedals at once would destroy the very fabric of music. It's like the idiot who typed 'Google' into the google search engine.
It's called a negative reality inversion. Quote
