Driving a Cab

This is probably going to be a stupid question on an epic scale, but if I get a 1/4" to Speakon cable, can I drive a cab using the line out from my combo?

dnt think so bud im pretty sure thats just a way of sending a signal, similar to a di you'd have to amplify the signal to drive a cab

If its a passive cab it wont be possible as the external speaker will have no power source. You can send a signal via the line out to an active speaker/monitor.
