cheddatom Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 well his staff obviously have an echo pedal - may be worth asking them for an interview? Quote
Kiwi Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 One of his staff is a formally trained bass player - she might say hello if we're lucky. I sent her a link to this page. Quote
Kiwi Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 That was me BTW. Should read: "Kevin does play a bit of bass but he confesses he has no great knowledge as it’s more of a hobby and so would prefer not to participate in an actual interview. Also, his filming schedule for Grand Designs is very hectic, which doesn’t allow him much time to do requests of this nature." Quote
cheddatom Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 anyway - hectic schedule? They do a new series every 4 years or so, with a stop gap "revisited" in between. Lazy bastards (Just joking, in-case the staff actually do read) Quote
Kiwi Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 They will...he's doing a lot more than just a TV programme, he's developing a franchise from what I can see with Grand Designs in Australia as well. He's thrown his weight in behind the earthquake recovery in Christchurch where I am which is good. It helps give the recovery work some international recognition. Quote
cheddatom Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Interesting, it'd be good to see a programme on that Quote

bassace Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 The latest Grand Designs is rather good. Two completely daft wacky projects costing millions. Nice bit of escapist stuff for the coming winter. Hopefully no more barn conversions for a while. Anyone else a GD fan? Quote
Si600 Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012
Anyone else a GD fan?
ep, both myself and the missus watch it. This weeks was interesting, liked it but I wouldn't want to live there. I thought Man Made House was interesting, if a little self indulgent, but it was fun to watch I love the chair from a tractor linkage, want one! Quote

Fitz666 Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 I really enjoy GD but am getting a tad fed up of the ecomentalist types, I want to see some originality and proper design, not fecking straw and recycled bottles..... Quote

Kiwi Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Nothing wrong with exploring alternative materials. Use of alternative technologies is what keeps practices like Foster and Partners at the top of their game. Quote
popoctave Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Anybody go to GRAND Designs LIVE? Did you get any inspiration for your next self build or renovation project? Quote
