Its true, the photo's (Lots of them too) are great, the way they pick up all that rust, and splits is excellent work! All for a tenner too! Imagine the pictures he'd do if he was selling a £5k instrument!! Quote
karlfer Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 What is the matter with you people, this was a life saving bass!. He was stranded in the Amazon, took the neck off for a paddle, used the body as a makeshift coracle and the strings to catch food. Bit of respect to this life saving bass! (some of the above may be "artistic license"). Quote
Nibody Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Looks more like the Septic tank leaked into the cellar and he used it to bale it out... Quote
Mr. Foxen Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 What's the deal with all the holes drilled in it? Quote

charic Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 I'll take it won't break anytime soon please What are the odds at? I think you're all forgetting how hard it is to break basses Quote
paul_5 Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Billy Joe Armstrong really struggled to smash his, and he's a *real* punk rocker. Quote
brensabre79 Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Yeah it only needs a microbe of beeswax to fill that crack and it will be as good as any Fender Gibson Rickenbacker Wal BC Rich Ibanez Stratocaster... Quote
basslowdown Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Don't forget to hone the socket too. Quote
Si600 Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 (edited) Made in 1956 and kept in a cellar since... It's got 6 strings as well according to the eBay header. Edited October 11, 2012 by Si600 Quote
Jayben Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Guess it totally depends on what wood it's made of.. Wonder if it'll be any good for metal? Quote
Protium Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012
It's nowt Mark D Phillips couldn't "fix"
2 or 3 wood screws should hold it! Quote
Truckstop Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 I'd just file down the heel anyway to improve the action; just like Mark Knopfler and David Gilmours' guitars! Truckstop Quote
Kiwi Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Looks like someone's just unearthed it on a beach somewhere. Quote

RichF Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 £50!!! what the ****! It's hit and miss whether the seller would have to pay an excess to have someone take it off his hands. Crazy world. Quote
Sean Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 £49.99! And there's a perfectly good Kramer for sale on here for £50 that's not going. Madness. Quote
