Wylie
Anyone had any experience with one of these? They're fairly new, 250 watts at 4 ohms, lots of knobs, and about $299 from Carvin (San Diego).
Conan
Never seen one before. Cute little sucker though isn't it?

fretlessguy
According with what I read on talkbass and some other sites over here, the tone shaping is fantastic. The amplifier is built to be used with their microbass line of combos and stand alone cabinets. They are built for smaller rooms and coffehouses and the like. If you want large chest thumping sound and volume this isn't it. if you want the full 250 watts, then you need to go with two 8 ohm or one 4 ohm cabinet. hope this helped. molan
I've tried both the Micro-Bass 1x15 and 2x10 combos at BassGear & thought they were pretty cool Pretty good value at around £470 too: http://www.bassgear....rvin-amps-cabs/ My favourite for overal tone was the 1x15 but I liked the way the 2x10 was designed to stand with the speakers vertically - ideal for rehearsals and smaller gigs. They run at 200w into 8ohms & add the extra 50w into 4ohms. I reckon the 1x15 combo with the matching 1x15 extension cab would be a really nice small lightweight set up. They come in tweed & snakeskin too Edited October 11, 2012 by molan
Wylie
Thanks, Molan and Fretless, I have a 4-ohm 2x10, so I expect that'll do it. Our trio has no drummer, so volume is not usually the top priority. Thanks for your help. tg

The 500 is about 2" deeper & 4" wider but, into 4ohms it's delivering 500w and only costs about £359. Your Schroeder will take the extra power if you needed it and with 102db sensitivity it ought to go pretty loud

The Schroeder is an awesome cab. I sold my Hartke head last night, and the man who bought it brought his own cab over to see what kind of sound he'd get. He struggled through the door with a 90-pound 4x10 SWR cab! I couldn't believe it. My 2x10 is 36 pounds. (A Schroeder 2x12 PL cab is all of 38 pounds.) I am beginning to sound like a Schroeder salesman
