Try one of the neoprene padded Comfort strapps - very nice on the shoulders! Here is a link http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_sp...ass_Direct.html

Do I get commission Mark? :)

I bought one of these too, on spec from my local music shop. I think they're brilliant and have swapped my Comfort Strapp for one as I fing them much more comfortable (only my opinion though).

EDIT: I bought the Ax version rather than the Bass one, as it's slightly longer

I have a few of these on various basses. They are infinitely adjustable and very easy to adjust as it is done with velcro, they do not have the neoprene stretch and bounce effect and if you plan to get them get the ones wih the suede on on the underside. They are softer and grip to your shoulder better.
250 USD! I hope they are worth it!

Indeed - I am the opposite though - I have the bass version tightened up so that it is around my chin!

I prefer them to the Comfort Strapp although to be fair, both straps are very, very good.
