sk8 Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 Okay so I've had a PCB112NT for a while now and early last year commissioned a Purple Chili fat bass head. The tolex was peeling in my can so I got mike to recover it and update the cab plus I commissioned another one to match it. The cabs are PCB112NT Specials, specials denoting they are fitted with a bass trap to remove some of the muddy frequencies. Anyway I got both cabs back ths week Can't wait to gig it. Both my rig and bass are uk made Quote
BarelyL4 Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 Mike, good to see that you still have the GAS bass bug - keen to know how it sounds! Quote
sk8 Posted October 16, 2012 Author Posted October 16, 2012 I've only used one cab before. Gigging this Saturday with both. I love the sound. Vintage but articulate. When I ran my hiwatt custom and Berg NV412 side by side with the Chili head and cab for the trade in lightness the difference in sound made no difference Quote

LawrenceH Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 Can I ask whether these are with the Celestion Orange or Green label speakers? Also, what's the 'bass trap'? Quote
sk8 Posted October 20, 2012 Author Posted October 20, 2012 Good point! Not sure on that but I can find out. The trap as explained to me basically 'traps' a certain frequency that would muddy the sound so it removes it from the sound going out. First gig with these tonight Quote

sk8 Posted October 21, 2012 Author Posted October 21, 2012 Used this last night at my gig. Awesome, effortless tone and power. Tbh could have just used one cab as there was headroom for days. Got a lot of compliments on my tone. Very pleased and the whole rig ways less than 30kg! Quote
