Walker Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Weekend Sound Engineering course - a recommendation for you I attended a 2 day sound engineering course this weekend with a company called Base Sound in Stroud and can thoroughly recommend if you are the one that sorts our out the sound for your band. Our band were all clueless (with me being the most 'technical') and we've just got a new Yammy desk with far too many buttons - hey presto, I now know what I'm doing! There were five of us on the course from all over the country (fellow musicians, a teacher and a couple of guys who were starting a hire company) and the guy running the course has 30+ years of experience doing the sound for all sizes and types of gig. Its a fast paced, no-nonsense, getting your hands dirty type of course - and a good laugh (depends on fellow attendees I suppose, but I had a great bunch). Covers everything from EQing the room to final mix - all very practical stuff. If you want more, I think he does a 4 dayer and 1-2-1's too. Hope this is useful to someone. No affiliation - just a happy punter who's happy to recommend good stuff to my fellow bassists. http://www.basesound.co.uk/ Quote
