Bassmonkey Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Don't know if any of you guys use this site but sadly, Steve Lally the guy who set it up and runs it has succumbed to cancer over the weekend. The site is used extensively by both bands and live music fans as it featured a gig guide covering much of the North of England plus classifieds and chat forums. Steve worked tirelessly offering his services free of charge and helping raise the profiles of tons of bands. Thoughts are with Steve's family at this time. Very sad. Andy Quote
LiamPodmore Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 I didn't use it myself but it sounds like a valuable resource. Thoughts are also with Steve's family, it's always sad to loose someone who puts a lot of effort into what they love and uses it to help other people. Liam Quote
Yorkielowdown Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Rock of the North- good site. Steve- good bloke. God bless him. Condolences to his family and friends. Quote
BigRedX Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Very sad news. Rock The North has has given the Terrortones a couple of excellent reviews this year. Quote
tonybassplayer Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Its a terrible loss to the live music community in West Yorkshire and beyond. Steve was a top guy and has helped numerous bands in their quest for live gigs etc and always looked for the positive in every review. He has been responsible for raising thousands for various charities. He will be sadly missed and the tribute concert ( his son has already indicated there will be one ) will need to be in a pretty big venue. RIP Steve Quote
