Fuzzbass2000 Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 Can anyone reccomend a power supply for my EBS Multicomp. I've been using various Maplin ones and they're all so noisy. Cheers Quote
topo morto Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 I use a diago one without issues. But before you blame the PSU, have you checked it's less noisy on battery? Quote
Fuzzbass2000 Posted October 17, 2012 Author Posted October 17, 2012 Yes - it is much much quieter. I was lent a boss one today and that seems to be better - just a little pricey. Quote
Thor Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 I 'took a chance' on one of these for my smaller pedal board (6 pedals): http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BOSS-PSA-240-POWER-SUPPLY-REPLACEMENT-ADAPTER-UK-9V-/150559882747?pt=UK_Guitar_Accessories&hash=item230e117dfb First impressions were it looks a bit cheap/plasticky but after 9 months of fairly busy gigging, it's been fantastic, no extraneous noise whatsoever - happily powers 6 pedals. For my PT2 I use a Diago Powerstation - again that's been whisper quiet and faultless. Quote
Fuzzbass2000 Posted October 17, 2012 Author Posted October 17, 2012 Thanks - at that price they're worth a punt. Quote
Ghost_Bass Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 http://www.effectpowersupplies.com/ The best i ever had, mine is an 8 fx daisychain delivering 9V at 3000mA. Very stable and completely silent. There's also a mod you can do to a "standart" universal power supply to remove the noise but having good ones available at nearly the same price is not a thing to do anymore. Quote
