Hipshot Freerange Extender - SOLD

Hi all,

Wonder if anyone would be interested in taking this off my hands?! I bought it on a whim with an recent order from the States without really researching it properly and turns out it’s not suitable for my set up:

1) I use Velvet Anima strings, and having a loop end instead of the ball end meant that it was a bit of a bodge to attach it
2)The detuning range with nylon/gut/synthetic strings is limited, and I found that even taking down a tone made the tension on the E string too loose to be properly playable
3) I thought I’d just pop it on my Yamaha Silent Bass (which has Helicore Hybrids), but no, the crazy bend-over tailpiece on that means that there’s no way to attach it properly

Looks like it should be a great product for anyone with a normal bass and steel strings with ball ends! Details are here:

Doesn’t seem to be a current UK supplier, so this might be a good way for an interested party to get their hands on one. I’m happy to sell it at a slight loss for £70 including UK recorded delivery, on the understanding that it is as new - just 2 failed installation attempts as described above! PM me if you’re interested.

At very least, hopefully this thread might be educational to anyone with a similar setup to me considering this - we should just cough up and get that fingerboard extension fitted!

Cheers,

Dave
