Jigster Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 ....their necks probably wouldn't be anywhere near as a good as a Sandberg or a Lakland. I've had my mitts on most of the classic range of rock n roll basses - I'm not meaning some of the high high end stuff I could never afford - but 'Rays, Fender jazz and P's, Ibanez, Yamaha, Gibsons, and so on, and I think Sandberg and Lakland beat them all hands down for sheer class, comfort and construction. The 'Bergs in particular are amazing and I think very underrated. Thus ends the Sunday sermon. Quote
bubinga5 Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 Lakland without doubt, nothing like a 55-02 neck.. ooh and that tone Quote
Evil Undead Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 The "modern C" neck on the new USA Fenders is my idea of neck perfection. But, I've never played a Lakland or a Sandberg. Quote
Roland Rock Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 If Carlsberg made basses, they would be mass-produced and utterly bland :-) Quote
paul_5 Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 and we'd all be told to 'play bass responsibly'. Thank you no, where's the fun in that? Quote

JTUK Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 Have to say that Carlberg isn't really a benchmark to hit, tbh... But some of their ads might be Quote

StephenFerguson Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 I would love to have the spare cash to afford the luxury of owning a lakland, I've played one and it was special, sadowski jazz basses make Me smile also, tone monster! I did recently play a cort a4 and for the price it was special, but then I'm a sucker for bartolinis Quote
gapiro Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 I have two laklands. Love them to bits and agree fully. Carry onn Quote
thebrig Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 If Carlsberg did make basses, I just hope that they would be better than the p*ss water they brew! Quote
