Spotted the above on e-bay with a buy it now for £2k
Its serial number is 320716, which makes it a 1959 model? SHOULD BE 1970'S
Appologies for not spotting my mistake sooner guys....
Same long time owner and looks to be all original

I am in no way connected to the sale.

Surely that's worth more than £2k, no?

Doh, just looked at the back body picture (without glasses this time) and can see the F on the neckplate, so it's definately not 1959.
Possibly 1971?
Senior momment......

If I were wanting a US item from overseas, I'd have to go with guitarcenter.com in the used dept. Anything else would be either too expensive or too dicey. When you set up your search, uncheck "used" and check "vintage." I don't know how they handle overseas shipments. You will find many good deals there. You can call the GC that holds that item and ask for an "in-hand" description, that is, they'll hold it and examine it and you ask all the questions you want. I plan on buying everything I can from GC used.

It would save you a trip to Ellesmere Port though...

Ha ha, fair point John, although the photos had done that already mate

Is this the same Guitar Center that sold someone a Ritter that turned out to be a Chinese knockoff, despite them being told by the owner of the original?

Anyway, that's a nice looking early 70s P in the OP.

Ha ha again. Michael's way more expert that I am in these matter so I'll bow to his greater knowledge if push comes to shove, but I'd still put a substantial amount of cash on that being wrong

Based on what I can see in the photos (always the caveat) it looks right to me. Pickguard (hard to fake) is correct, bridge has elongated G screw, tuners are correct, logo correct... I'd make the trip if I was in the market for one.

How about you buy it and if it's real I buy it off you for what you paid and bung in an extra £100 for charity

Body just looks suss to me, I can't explain why, but add a few other things about the auction and I doubt it'll be worth the trip.

I certainly wouldn't stump up for it without going to see it first, but that's only sensible.

Body looks fine to me, as does the rest of it. My spidey sense ain't tinglin'.

Well the WoT stamp of approval's good enough for me mate. Defo not a '59 though eh
