Or the price tag, for that matter!
paul torch
A couple of companies that work for have been using 3D printers for a while. They are mainly used for prototypes for client presentation and require a certain amount of touching up after they have come out of the "printer". It's worth mentioning that it looks as though only the bodies of the guitars are made on a 3D printer. Not much different a concept to just using different materials. [/quote] Yeah, the manufacturers describe them as having a solid wood block down the centre of the body and a Warmoth neck, so really it is only the wings that are 3D printed. Still a nice idea, I think.
charic
The area where you rest your arm should still be solid IMHO
harleyheath
some great ideas there, love the shoes for people with deformed feet, good to see new tecno ideas being used for people not just fashion, as for the guitars, lot of money for a plastic guitar with a warmoth neck, still im sure like everything it will have its market! do like the look though! very funky! xgsjx
There's a 3D printer at my wife's work. Apparantly the print cartrages are a bit on the pricy side & don't last long.

hollywoodrox
Ive seen some sort of home brew 3d printer somewhere I think they filled it up with some sort of sugar or something instead of the usual stuff, it was like some sort of MIT type of homebrew contraption, not much use but an interesting experiment
yorks5stringer
Imagine turning up at your local jam Session with the "Bee" Bass? There would be mayhem....!
Mr. Foxen
Steve Wishnevsky of Wishbass has already got a CNC router and is applying for a grant for a 3D printer.
simwells
Considering the finishes possible with current 3D printers I don't really understand what you would use it for positively above hand making items. I'm a big believer in the future of 3D printing for certain objects and do own one it just doesn't really suit this particular area as far as I can see.
